About Naven Chetty

Dr Naven Chetty is a consultant gynaecological oncologist and gynaecologist and Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.

He has completed fellowships in Gynaecological Oncology and Laparoscopic Gynaecology. As a result he has an interest in treating women with pre-invasive gynaecological pathology, gynaecological malignancies or suspected gynaecological malignancies as well as benign gynaecological pathology requiring either laparoscopic or open surgery.

Dr Chetty completed his internship and residency in Canberra and Newcastle before going on to do his obstetrics and gynaecology training at the Royal Hospital for Women in Sydney. This was followed by a two-year fellowship in laparoscopic gynaecological surgery at St Vincent’s Hospital and the Royal Hospital for Women.

His gynaecological oncology training comprised a year at the Royal Hospital for Women, Sydney, and the subsequent two years at the Queensland Centre for Gynaecological Cancer, working at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and Mater Adult Hospital.

Dr Chetty is a member of the Queensland Centre for Gynaecological Oncology (QCGC) and a staff specialist at Mater Adult Hospital. In addition he is a senior lecturer at the University of Queensland and involved in student teaching and research via QCGC and Mater Research.

Dr Chetty is happy to consult on both benign and malignant gynaecological pathology with the aim to use of minimally invasive techniques where possible. He currently consults from the Mater Medical Centre.
