Minimally invasive surgery, including robotic, genital tract dysplasia and risk reduction surgery.
Shaun graduated from the University of Queensland medical school, before completing his internship and residency at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. He obtained Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2017, having completed all his training in south-east Queensland including Nambour, Redcliffe, Royal Brisbane and Women’s, and Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee hospitals.
He subsequently embarked upon subspecialist training in Gynaecological Oncology. This included time at the Queensland Centre for Gynaecological Cancer (QCGC), comprising both the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and Mater Hospital Brisbane, as well as two years at Mercy Hospital for Women in Melbourne. In 2021 he was awarded Certification in Gynaecological Oncology (CGO).
Since 2021 he has worked as a staff specialist in gynaecological oncology at Mater Hospital Brisbane, where he is involved in teaching fellows, registrars, residents and medical students, and contributes to research through QCGC. He is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland.
Shaun has recently commenced private practice through Bridges Health, Mater Medical Centre. He has particular interest in minimally invasive surgery, including robotic surgery, and pre-cancerous conditions of the genital tract. Shaun welcomes referrals for suspected or confirmed gynaecological malignancy, ovarian masses, pre-invasive gynaecological conditions as well as benign conditions such as fibroids, ovarian cysts and heavy menstrual bleeding.
